207Hire was built by the owner of a cleaning company in Bangor — not a tech startup, not an out-of-state platform.
We hired on Indeed for years. Every year the price went up and the results went down: pay-per-click fees with no ceiling, applicants from three states away, one-click applies from people who never answered the phone, and no human to call when something broke. Eventually we did the math — hundreds of dollars a month to maybe reach the same local people we could reach in a Facebook group for free.
So we built the job board we wanted to use:
- Maine only. Every employer verified local, every listing human-reviewed.
