About the role
You will serve as the Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) Branch Head in the Resident Office in Charge of Construction (ROICC) Office Maine, of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Lant.
What you'll do
You will identify developmental or training needs of employees to maintain staff knowledge of architect-engineer procedures and regulations.,You will perform project management for multi-disciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution within construction standards.,You will evaluate engineering and architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and supporting documents to determine feasibility, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements.,You will chair meetings and conferences to discuss architectural and engineering technical matters with management officials, headquarters, contractors, or staff members.,You will oversee the construction and engineering design of projects to ensure compliance with established architectural and engineering standards and contract requirements.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the SPF and basic requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Managing overall requirements in developing scoping estimates, designs/RFPs, project management, administering A&E and construction contracts; 2) Developing annual resource/budget allocation requirements and monitoring use of assigned resources including reimbursable project dollars; 3) Developing independent government estimates, annual resource/budget allocation requirements for construction; 4) Applying knowledge of the federal government contract process, Architect/Engineering slate, selection, contract award, construction contract selection, and claims boards; 5) Leading high-level meetings concerning project status and controversial matters; and 6) Communicating, both orally and in writing, at a high level.
